The Song Is Over - The Who
This song appears on their album Who’s Next, one of my favorite Who albums. Although this album contains other greats, including the famous Baba O’Riley, this is the one that tickles my insides and almost captures a sense of accomplishment… even if it’s not there. “If God made music, it would sound like The Who.”
Pete Townshend saves lives on a daily basis. I can’t imagine my life without him, probably non-existent. He wrote songs telling me that it’s only teenage wasteland and that he doesn’t really care what I read or what I wear, he still wants me to join together with the band. Too bad I was born thirty-some years late, I would’ve taken him up on that offer. Damn you, teen angst!
Another great man on the drums, Keith Moon, my favorite drummer of all time, and the baddest badass there ever was. If I possessed Moon the Loon’s skills, I would not be on my knees scraping together every penny for my weekly lessons. But I do it to be just like him, minus the way he died. Next time on A Day In the Life!
